OUR LAKE. YOUR DRINKING WATER
Our lakes, rivers and springs are not only beautiful natural landscapes, but also the source of our drinking water. That's why we have teamed up with LUZERN LIVE, the festival around the Lucerne lake basin, to raise awareness of clean water and get people involved. The focus is on the most common littering object in Switzerland: the cigarette butt. 75% of all cigarettes end up on the ground or in a body of water after smoking!
Many people do not realise how harmful this littering is for the environment. A discarded filter consists of a toxic mix of microplastics and chemicals that pollutes up to 1000 litres of water. One cigarette butt in one litre of water is enough to poison the water enough to cause mass fish mortality. Trained by the non-profit organisation stop2drop, we collect cigarette butts at LUZERN LIVE, invite visitors to the festival to help us and raise awareness for a fair and sustainable use of water.
VISIT US AT OUR STAND
Do you dare to spin our "wheel of fortune"? You are invited to support us in a variety of ways - for example, by purchasing a pocket ashtray, winning a discount voucher for our shop or collecting 5 cigarette butts - with which you can directly protect up to 5000 litres of water from pollution. We also serve the finest lake water (48% of tap water in Lucerne is lake water) and welcome every conversation.
You will find our stand on Schweizerhofquai, where we are open between 5 and 10 pm and look forward to your visit!

OUR WATER BODIES. YOUR ACTION.
Water protection is a collective global responsibility because the water cycle does not care about borders or responsibilities. By not littering and making water-friendly purchases, for example, you can also take responsibility on an individual level. What is your action so that our water bodies can also be the natural drinking water source of the future?
